2013 Primetime Emmy Nominations: Drama
Let’s face it. Some of us go for comedy. Others go for drama.
I freely admit to being a drama fan.
Most of the nominees this year have been honored at previous Emmy Award shows. A few are newcomers to the Primetime Emmys. All of the actors and actresses listed have given performances that made viewers sit up and take notice.
So will the voters give Bryan Cranston a fourth Emmy this year? Or will it finally be Jon Hamm’s turn? Will Claire Danes be a repeat winner for Homeland? Or will new nominee Kerry Washington take the Emmy? Or will another upset the favorites? These questions and many more will be answered on September 22.

So who are your favorites among this year’s nominees? I’m happy for any award given to Downton Abbey or Game of Thrones. And who do you think was snubbed? I was most interested in seeing new names such as Kerry Washington and Morena Baccarin appear this year. But I was disappointed by the names that were not among the nominees. I’d like to have seen Tatiana Maslany’s amazing performance on Orphan Black honored with a nomination. Mary McDonnell and G.W. Bailey from Major Crimes would have been most welcome. Michelle Fairley was outstanding in the third season of Game of Thrones.
What series would you add?
Added note: I meant to include Rob James-Collier of Downton Abbey to my list of "should-haves." His performance this year as Thomas was certainly Emmy worthy.
