Welcome to our fourth annual Graphic Novel Staff Favorites! Listed below are titles HCPL staff have read this year and recommend. Awkward by Svetlana Chmakova. Staff member, Kimberly C. enjoyed this read though she is not privy to the illustrated book. She recommends it to readers new to graphic novels, young teens looking for realistic storylines, and anyone looking for a fast, sweet read.

Edward Scissorhands. Volume 1, Parts Unknown by Kate Leth & Drew Rausch.

Hawkeye Vol, 4. Rio Bravo by Matt Fraction. According to one staff member, this series continues to be great with each volume. Start with Volume 1 and see for yourself!

Hawkeye vs Deadpool Invincible Lowriders in space Lumberjanes

Hawkeye vs. Deadpool by Matteo Lolli. "If you like Matt Fraction's version of Hawkeye, then this mash-up of Deadpool's well-known snark and Hawkeye's will sure to please the avid comic reader and even newbies!" - Misty L.

Invincible series by Robert Kirkman. Start with Volume 1, Family Matters.

Lowriders in space. Book 1 by Cathy Camper & Raúl the Third.

**Lumberjanes by Noelle Stevenson & others. Staff members recommend this title for its strong female protagonists. Request Volumes 1 and 2 through the Enterprise catalog or hop over to Hoopla to access single issues!

Ms. Marvel series by G. Willow Wilson. This is another title staff members enjoy for the strong female protagonist. Start with Volume 1, No Normal.

Nimona by Noelle Stevenson. 

Princeless. 1, Save yourself by Jeremy Whitley & others.
