3D Printing Service Begins in September
3D printing service begins in September at Freeman Branch Library! Here are the basics:
- - Print time may be scheduled upon first registering for and completing an orientation session. Call the library at 281-488-1906 or visit at 16616 Diana Lane to register. September orientation dates are 9/3, 9/11, 9/17, and 9/22 beginning at 7:00 PM. If orientation cannot be attended on any of the available dates, please speak with staff to determine if other arrangements can be made.
- - Once orientation is complete, customers may schedule print time on either the MakerBot Replicator 2 or re:3D's Gigabot large-format printer by visiting the link www.hcpl.net/content/3d-printing-policy . Printing reservations will be taken beginning 9/4, following the first orientation session.
- - Printing cost is 10 cents per gram and is payable by cash or check to the Friends of Freeman Library, who supply PLA filament (printing material).
The Lee Innovation Lab is still under development. In the meantime, we are pleased to begin offering this new service and experience to our customers thanks to our many supporters.
