Accessing the Digital Media Catalog via the new

As you may have already noticed, our webpage has had something of a facelift.  With this has come a slight difference in how to access our Digital Media Catalog.  You will notice that the "HCPL Digital Media Catalog" icon is no longer in the center of the page.  But fear not!  There are several simple paths from our new homepage to our Digital Media Catalog.

The first path, and probably the easiest navigationally, is by clicking the blue icon on the right side of the page that reads "eBooks and More".

Alternatively, you can hover over the "Books & Media" tab at the top of the screen and, in the resultant menu, select "eBooks".

Lastly, you may, for whatever reason, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the link that says "HCPL Digital Media Catalog" beneath the Services heading.

All three of these will get you where you need to go.

Althought there's a separate

Althought there's a separate category for kid's e-books, most of the books listed under the "New E-Books" category seem to be children's books. Is that representative of the e-books being purchased, primarily children's books? Or am I misunderstanding this?

Rest assured, the library

Rest assured, the library is purchasing e-books for all ages.  Because of the way orders are placed (by fund type), what will show up in the "new e-book" section are the titles from the most recent order placed, which will be either all adult or all children's.  We are working to find a more user friendly display, but in the meantime,  you can go to your preferred reading category -- fiction, mystery, etc. -- and sort by "date added to site" to get the most recent titles.  Thanks for the comment.
