Gulf Coast Reads Book Discussion-Bluebird, Bluebird: Monday, October 8, 6:30 pm-7:30 pm. –Join us for our Gulf Coast Reads book discussion on Bluebird, Bluebird: A Novel, by Houston-born author Attica Locke. This compelling, contemporary crime novel set in rural east Texas along Hwy 59 includes well-developed characters, the Blues, injustices over race, and an intriguing mystery. No registration required.

Gulf Coast Reads Program-The Houston Blues Museum: Saturday, October 13, 2 pm.  Sandy Hickey, Co-Founder and Director of Museum Collections at the Houston Blues Museum, will talk about blues references in Bluebird, Bluebird that relate to the collection at the Blues Museum. Ms. Hickey will have artifacts from the Museum for display. After the talk, there will be a demonstration of blues music by a Houston-area musician. No registration required.
