Alien Invasion

In the past month, two very different movies featuring aliens have been released in theaters. Paul has a friendly alien stuck on Earth, while Battle: Los Angeles has a group of violent aliens trying to wipe out the human race. If I were to ever actually meet an alien, I hope it would be the friendly kind (think E.T., The Extra-Terrestrial), but I prefer watching movies about alien invasions. There is something exhilarating about the action scenes, the explosions and the fear of the unknown that makes alien invasion movies so watchable. Ultimately, these movies are about the human race triumphing over a frightening, and often technologically superior race.
