All Aboard the Library Express. Chuga, Chuga, Choo, Choo.

In story time, I introduced one of the transportation songs with my train whistle, and the children in our program loved it! Below are a few songs and fingerplays that you can enjoy at home.

This just in... Ms. Susan will be reading books about trains in her storytimes next week.  And, she also mentioned that there will be a craft. I am sure that there are many of our friends who will not want to miss this exciting program. If your family would like to attend, please arrive on time and be aware that space is limited.

  • Toddler storytimes are held on Wednesdays @ 10 am and 1:30 pm.
  • Pre-School Storytime is held on Thursday @ 10 am

The Wheels of the Train

The wheels of the train go, clickety clack.
Clickety clack, clickety clack.
The wheels of the train go
Clickety clack, clickety clack all day long.

The engineer toots his horn.
Toots his horn, toots his horn.
The engineer toots his horn,
Toot, toot, toot.

The crossing gates come right down.
Come right down, come right down.
The crossing gates come right down,
Clang, clang, clang.

The people on the train get bumped around.
Bumped around, bumped around.
The people on the train get bumped around,
bumpety bump, bump.

The babies on the train go to sleep,
go to sleep, go to sleep.
The babies on the train go to sleep.
Chuga, chuga, choo, choo.
Shhhhh...

Little Red Caboose
Little red caboose,
Choo, choo, choo,
Little red caboose,
Choo, choo, choo,
Little red caboose
Behind the train, train, train, train.
Smokestack on its back, back, back, back-
Coming around the track, track, track, track-
Little red caboose
Behind the train, choo!

Train Fingerplay

Choo- Choo Train...
Here's a little choo-choo train
Chugging down the track
Now it goes forward
Now it goes back
Now the whistle blows
Whooooo, Whooooooo!
What a lot of noise it makes
Everywhere it goes
Chooo-chooo-chooo!
The train comes running back.
