Altered Books Contest at Kingwood Library
In honor of National Library Week, Kingwood Branch Library is hosting an Altered Books contest open to all ages in April.
What are altered books you ask? Altered books are books that are modified in a variety of ways to make an artistic or personal statement. Books can be used as a canvas, re-purposed to function a different way, the sky's the limit! We encourage participants to be creative.
Beginning Monday, April 8th, Kingwood Library, individuals can visit the 2nd Floor Reference Desk for an unaltered book (or supply their own) and entry form. Entries must be submitted by Monday, April 29th at 8:00 PM. Participants can enter their piece in one of three categories: Family, Teens, or Adults. One contestant from each category will be chosen to receive a Michael's gift card. A random contestant will be chosen in each category to receive a FOLK bookstore gift certificate. Entries will be on display through May in the 1st Floor Lobby.
