In Another Time or Place...

Game of Thrones.  As exciting as the television series is, I had never read the books by George R. R. Martin and likely would not have watched the series.

Except – I love Peter Dinklage.

Dinklage is an actor I had seen and admired in The Station Agent (highly recommended “make your own family” movie starring Dinklage, Patricia Clarkson, and Bobby Cannavale), Elf (for me, Dinklage’s scene is the funniest in the movie), The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, the sci-fi series Threshold, and both versions of Death at a Funeral.  So he was one of the reasons I was curious about the series everyone was talking about – Game of Thrones.

Of course, now I’m hooked, just like millions of others.  It’s a fascinating adult fantasy about power and what people will do to achieve it.  Dinklage is not the only actor I’d seen in various TV series and movies.  And I’ve come to admire others in Game of Thrones, especially the younger actors who are fairly new to the screen.

If you’re a fan of Game of Thrones and wonder where you might have seen the actors before – maybe in another time or place -- here’s a list to explore, from leading actors such as Sean Bean and Diana Rigg to character actors such as David Bradley, Natalia Tena, and Liam Cunningham.
