Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month Craft
One of the oldest forms of drama, Chinese Opera has evolved as time has passed. One integral part of Chinese Opera is the mask worn by the performers. More than just a prop, the colorful mask represents the character's personality, demeanor and even rank in society. Often times an actual mask, the Chinese Opera mask can also be painted directly onto the actor's face.
Celebrate Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month with North Channel Branch Library on May 16. Meet in the children's area of the library at 4:30 pm to design and color your own Chinese Opera mask.
