A Big Week at The Little Blue Library

Another busy week is underway at The Little Blue Library.  This Monday was the start for Kids Café!  We are now serving lunch from 12 pm to 1 pm Monday through Friday to all children and their accompanying guardians. The Kids Café require that customers eat the lunch under the Tree House on the East side of Mercer Botanic Gardens.  On Monday, we had Story Time in the Gardens and the subject was snakes.  Today, Wednesday June 20 we had Thomas the Snake Man at 10:30 am teach about snakes and allow the children to handle and hold them.   Tomorrow is Teen Thursday, and the teens will learn how gourds can make sounds.  This is all part of the “7 Continents/7 Instruments program this summer.  This week’s continent is Africa.  Get ready for some crafty beading and make a Shekere.  They are beautiful and make cool sounds.  You will love it!  Friday will be our Family Day.  It will be a sunny day and perfect for Pokémon Go/Geocaching.  That will be going on from 9 am to 3 pm.  To see what programs we have coming up, check our events calendar on our website at hcpl.net, or follow our Facebook page.  Remember, if you have not already signed up for the Summer Reading Program, it is not too late to start.  The theme is “Libraries Rock”, and we can help you sign up at the branch, or you can sign up on line on our website at your convenience. We hope you have gotten a chance to come by and see what The Little Blue Library has going. If not, today is a great day to start.  We would love to see you soon!
