Books Alive! Week Returns Next Week

Get your calendars ready!  We have several exciting programs planned in the Children's Department for Books Alive! Week -  March 14-18.   Books Alive! Week is sponsored by the Friends of Freeman Library.  Each year during Spring Break, we have a special afternoon program in addition to our regularly scheduled storytimes.  Our storytimes and Family Night will have a Spring theme this week.  Here's a description of the Books Alive! Week programs.

Monday, March 14 - Movie Break 2:30 pm - Join us for a classic family movie.  Snacks will be provided.  Tickets are required.  They are available from the Kids Information Desk starting 30 minutes before the program.

Wednesday, March 16 - 2:30 pm - Join us for a magical afternoon at "Book Bash".  Magician Jeffrey Gardner of Julian Franklin's Library Rat Productions will perform magic tricks and talk about the importance of reading books.  Tickets are required.  They are free and available at the Kids Information Desk starting 30 minutes before the program.

Thursday, March 17 - 2:30 pm - Make a fun bookmark to hold your place in all the books you'll be reading this spring and summer.  This caterpillar bookmark is inspired by Eric Carle's illustrations in The Very Hungry Caterpillar.  Tickets are required.  They are free and available at the Kids Information Desk starting 30 minutes before the program.
