Calling All Tween and Teen Writers and Artists!

Calling all tween and teen writers and artists! The Atascocita Branch Library is launching their first library teen zine this May and we need your talent! What are we looking for? Short stories, poems, articles, Top 10 Lists, reviews, photographs, drawings, manga, collages, cartoons, and anything else you can create.

What’s a zine? A zine is a totally DIY publication that is distributed locally and traded all over the world.

The theme for this issue is “The Beginning and The End.”

Writers must be middle school and high school age students. Work must be original, unpublished work. Atascocita Library retains the right to use the work in any publicity. No obscenities, gang affiliations, racial slurs, or overt sexual imagery. Due to copyright issues, no fanfiction or fanart will be accepted. Written work should be typed or neatly handwritten. The zine will be printed in black ink so all artwork and photography should be suitable for that medium.

Submit your piece or pieces in person at the library or via e-mail to: your name, age, address, e-mail, and phone number on each piece. Deadline for entries is Saturday, April 27th at 5pm.
