Celebrate Creative African American Thinkers!

Lone Star College-Tomball Community Library decided to do a slight twist on our Black History Month display.  Laura Matson, Circulation Assistant, and Kathy Green, Circulation Supervisor, wanted to focus on some lesser known inventors in Black History.  What would we do without the pencil sharpener or laser eye surgery for cataracts?

Elijah McCoy “The Real McCoy”, John Lee Love, Patricia Bath and Sarah Goode are featured in our Black History Month display.  The drawings of their patented inventions were hand drawn by Laura Matson, our resident artist.  The rest of the display hand-painted by both Laura and Kathy.

If you have the opportunity to visit Tomball in the month of February, please take time to peruse and learn about these creative thinkers!
