For the Children: An Early Literacy Program for Families

In partnership with the Children's Museum of Houston, the Atascocita Branch Library is proud to present “For the Children,” a program based on Para Los Niños. Come join the fun as we share books and hand on activities that encourage early literacy skills. 

 Healthy Minds/Healthy Bodies
Our next program will be held on Saturday, September 4th at 1:30 pm.  Each family that completes a short survey of the program will earn an admission pass to the Children's Museum for up to four people. For a list of additional programs please see the schedule below.

Food Habits

Picky Peggy  Jennifer Dussling
Peggy, who is known for being a picky eater, decides to become "Peggy the bold eater" after learning a lesson from her pet duckling.
A very picky eater, Gregorythe goat refuses the usual goat diet staples of shoes and tin cans in favor of fruits, vegetables, eggs, and orange juice.
Because her eating habits cause some problems, Arthur the aardvark's younger sister has to stay home when her family eats out.

Body Movement
