Teens, it is time to reformat the planet- chiptunes style. What is the Chiptunes movement? It is a vibrant electronic music scene based on the creation of new, original music using familiar video game hardware.

The Aldline Library is featuring 2 Chiptunes events this month in celebration of Teen Read Week 2010. This year's theme is "Books with Beat." On Wednesday, October 13th at 4 PM, we will show the documentary "Reformat the Planet" in the Meeting Room. This film follows the chiptune movement, focusing on how it all came about and how it has progressed over the years. Snacks and drinks will be provided. This documentary is recommended for older teens as it does contain some strong language.

On Wednesday October 20th at 4 PM, rock out to the sounds of old Game Boys and Nintendo systems! A local chiptunes artist will be visiting the library. This musician will bring his whole chiptune setup to the Meeting Room where he will perform. He will also teach a thing or two about the chiptune process and how to make a chiptune. Prizes will be given out to lucky participants. Teens come join us for these exciting events! Rock on. . .
