Christmas Angels

It’s a moment we remember in the Christmas film It’s a Wonderful Life.  Guardian angel Clarence Odbody laments the fact that he does not have wings.  And his big chance to earn his wings is by showing George Bailey that life is worth living, no matter what.  Clarence tells George, “Every time a bell rings, an angel get his wings.”

Before seeing that movie for the first time, I’d never heard that saying.  I’m not even sure it wasn’t created for the film.  But it’s a nice idea.

Even before It’s a Wonderful Life, we always associated angels with Christmas.  From the Biblical story to the figure on the tree, angels are part of the holiday.  However, they have not been present in most movies for Christmas.  But when they do appear, they are worth remembering.

The first list below features some of the best Christmas angels in films.  And in case you’d like to see a few more movies featuring angels, check the second list.  And enjoy the holidays.
