Coming up, February programming!

One month of 2018 down or close enough. Have you been keeping up with your New Year’s Resolutions (if you made them)? I, for one, give myself a cheat month (January) to decide what I really want to focus on for the year. If you’re like me and want to learn a new skill, or maybe hone one (I have 4 more days to decide), well, Evelyn Meador has you covered. Our new month long sewing program starts February 1st and will occur every Thursday at 1:30, Classes will focus on measuring, developing patterns for and sewing skirts, tops, dresses. Registration FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL CLASS is required & started 01/24/2018.

Maybe a new skill or hobby is not a current goal and what you really want is to plan for the future. Well, we also have you covered with our Free Estate Planning Workshop on February 10th at 1:00 pm. This workshop will provide information on legal strategies involved in estate planning, including wills, revocable living trusts, irrevocable trusts, durable powers of attorney, and health care documents.

If those programs don’t catch your attention perhaps you would like to bring your young ones to our African-American History Month celebration on February 10th at 11:00 am. This program is presented in partnership with Young Audiences of Houston. Join Second Generation Dance Company as they explore the ancient myths of deepest Africa in their production: African Folklore and Fairytales. Visit with Anansi and turtle, gaze upon the Flying Africans, find out what lessons Tortoise taught Eagle, and find out why Cheetah's cheeks are stained.

As always, we hope to see you at one of our many programs. If you are looking for a book, please check our online catalog and place a request for that next read.
