Countdown to Summer Reading
Everyone is invited to "Dig Up a Good Book" this summer with HCPL summer reading programs for the entire family. The fun begins Friday, June 3rd and runs through
Friday, August 5th Saturday, August 6th, but you can set up your account starting May 31st if you would like a few extra days before you begin logging the books you read. Registration and reading logs are online, but we encourage you to check out the events calendar and visit your local branch to take part in the great free family entertainment happening all summer long.
- Children complete the program by reading ten books, 500 pages or 500 minutes of reading and receive a certificate from the Texas State Library and a free paperback book, while supplies last.
- Teens complete the program by reading five books or 600 minutes of reading and receive a certificate from the Texas State Library and a specialized flash drive bracelet, while supplies last.
- Adults complete the program by reading four books and are entered into a random drawing for Amazon gift cards for $50 cards at each library location and three grand prize drawings.
So, whether you like magic and crafts, gaming and movies, or reading and reviewing, we've got something for you! All prizes are sponsored by the Friends of the Harris County Public Library and generous local partners.
