Fall College Series

Do you have a college-bound teenager?  Join us this fall for the College Series

Kaplan will be administering free SAT practice exams on Saturdays, 9/7 and 10/5 from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.  The exams require registration as space is limited.  Registration for the September exam is currently open, and opens for the October exam on Tuesday, 9/3 at 10:00 a.m. 

Saturday, 9/21, at 10:30 a.m. is Crafting Your Personal Statement with Scott Furtwengler, former Dean of the Honors Program at San Jacinto Community College.  He will present on writing personal essays for the college application process.  Dean Furtwengler has served on several selection committees in addition to preparing students for the application process for major scholarships such as the Rhodes Scholarship, Harry S. Truman Scholarship, the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and more. 

Saturday, 10/12 at 10:30 a.m. a representative from the College Money Guys will be here to talk to the parents of college-bound teens about insiders’ secrets, strategies and tips to slash college costs. 

Saturday, 11/9 at 10:30 a.m. is College Application Timeline with Jolyn Brand, founder of Brand College Consulting.  She has a Master’s in Education and has worked with teens for over ten years.  In a session geared towards parents of college-bound teens, Brand will discuss the processes and timelines of college applications, financial aid and scholarships.
