Family Friendly Halloween

pumpkinsI’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I adore fall. I love it not only because the leaves are changing and the temperatures are dropping, but because fall is packed with holidays. I confess that of all the fall holidays, Halloween is my least favorite, but it certainly has its advantages. Candy is, naturally, the best part of any Halloween celebration, but the movies are a close second. My personal favorite Halloween movies aren’t the gory ones or the scary ones. I love the classics and the cartoons – the ones that adults and kids can enjoy together.

If you are looking for a Halloween movie the entire family can watch, look through the suggestions on the list below and see which movies best fit your family. Some of the suggested movies would work better with older kids, and some would be perfect for the whole family. Happy Halloween!

I'm so glad you included

I'm so glad you included Wallace & Gromit!  I love them and loved The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.  Of course, there's also Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.  It includes that exciting, scary first Halloween at Hogwarts and the trio's battle with the mountain troll.

I adore all of the Wallace

I adore all of the Wallace & Gromit movies and I'm happy to find a fellow fan! I feel they are underappreciated in the US.

Now that I think about it, the majority of the Harry Potter movies could have been included on this list. I think something relatively exciting happens on Halloween in most of them. I, for one, would love to go to a Halloween feast at Hogwarts!
