Farewell Steve Jobs

apple iPodOn Wednesday, October 5, Steve Jobs, the visionary behind Apple, passed away after a lengthy illness. I was late to join the club of enthusiasts devoted to Apple products, but since saving my pennies and buying my first iPod in 2004, I have been a loyal fan. Like many people around the world, I am saddened by the loss of such a charismatic, forward-thinking individual.

Even if you have never touched a Mac, listened to music on an iPod, made a call on an iPhone, or played a game on an iPad, Steve Jobs’ influence can be felt through his involvement as CEO of Pixar Animation Studios. Since Toy Story, Pixar’s first feature film in 1995, the company has produced twelve computer animated movies and a number of computer animated shorts, each one a smashing success with people of all ages.

Whether you are an Apple enthusiast or not, there is a part of all of us that still enjoys a well-crafted animated movie. This weekend, watch your favorite Pixar movie and remember the legacy of a true innovator.
