Free the books! Free the books!
Banned Books Week is an American Library Association recognized week to battle censorship and celebrate our freedom to read. This year, Banned Books Week will be September 25th - October 2nd. The librarians of Northwest Library gathered up titles in our newest display area to bring attention to books that have been banned in the past. Titles include books in a varied array; from Alice Walker's The Color Purple to Dav Pilkey's The Adventures of Captain Underpants. You might be surprised to see what titles have been banned in the past. You probably have read some without even knowing they were banned. Celebrate your First Amendment rights and read a banned book!
