Genealogy Workshops at Kingwood Branch Library

Genealogy with Karen Rasmussen

Is one of your goals for the new year to learn about your roots and ancestry? If so, Kingwood Branch Library has just the programs for you!

During January, Kingwood Branch Library and the Kingwood Texas Family History Center are happy to bring you the following genealogy workshops:

Saturday, January 18, 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Writing Your Personal History. In this "hands on" family history class led by local genealogist Jerry Elzinga, you will leave with a simplified version of your own personal history in your hands.  You type or write while Mr. Elzinga guides you through your own life history.  Come, participate, and create this cherished gift for those who come after you.

Friday, January 24, 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM: FamilySearch Open House. New to genealogy? Start your quest by attending this open house with local genealogist Karen Rasmussen!  Stop by and receive one on one help. Create a free FamilySearch account and begin adding information about your parents and grandparents to the online Family Tree.  Get help finding and attaching historical records for newly discovered ancestors.

Both programs require registration as space is limited and will be held in the 2nd Floor Computer Lab. Register through our Events Calendar, in person, or by calling 281-360-6804.
