Genealogy @ your Library

Are you trying to follow your roots? Would you like to fill in the blanks on your family tree?

Adults of all ages, please join us for the under50over  on Friday, July 2nd when Laura Smith, Reference Librarian, will present "Genealogy: Beyond the Census."  This program will start at 10:30 and will be held in the Marge Jacobson Community Room on the first floor.

If you can't make it to the library for the under50over  program, please feel free to check out our Genealogy databases. On your next library visit, please check out Ancestry.com Library Edition. Ancestry.com is available for users who are using a library computer; there is no access to this resource outside of the library branches. This database gives users access to:

  • birth, marriage, and death indexes
  • immigration records
  • military records
  • directories

On a day you can't stop by the library, please check out the HeritageQuest: Genealogy and Local History database, made available through our participation in the TexShare Program. To access this database remotely, you must enter your library barcode number. HeritageQuest allows users to search:
