Hansel & Gretel

Do you enjoy stories of deep forests, evil witches and small children?  Not to mention houses made of gingerbread and frosting?  Then mark your calendars to join us on Monday, October 12th, 10:30 a.m. at the San Jacinto Community center in Highlands for a free performance of Hansel & Gretel by the Houston Opera to Go.  The small traveling group of performers visited us here in Highlands earlier this year when they performed a 45 minute updated version of Romeo & Juliet.  I have to say that it was one of the most enjoyable musical performances that I have ever attended!

It was a mixed crowd, high school students, adults, and seniors, and EVERYONE enjoyed it!  So please come out and see what all the fuss is about.  The performance will last approximately 45 minutes and although it is aimed towards elementary and middle school, I am sure you will not be disappointed if you are outside of that age bracket!

Just think about it, how often do you get the chance to sit essentially in the front row to hear professionals, for free? If you will be attending with more than five people, please call us at the library at (281) 426-3521 so that we can make arrangements.

Hope to see you there!
