Happy Mother's Day!

Just because the Evelyn Meador Library is closed on Sunday doesn’t mean that we don’t love and celebrate Mother’s Day. We appreciate all the moms in our community who do so much to help their kids and teach them to read and come to the library. To help you celebrate Mother’s Day, here are some great children’s books about mothers that would be perfect reads this Sunday (or any time you want to read about moms):

-My Mommy Hung the Moon by Jamie Lee Curtis & Laura Cornell: A hard-working mother's extraordinary accomplishments are listed by her devoted child.

-We Love Our Mom! by Jan and Mike Berenstain: With Mother's Day only a week away, Brother and Sister Bear are looking for the perfect present for Mama. After all, Mama Bear is always there for her cubs! When Brother scrapes his knees, Mama is there with bear hugs and kisses. When Sister Bear needs help with her homework, Mama always lends a helping paw. So what can the cubs possibly do to show their mom how much they love her?

-Mother, You’re the Best! (Sister, You’re a Pest!) by Diane DeGrout: Gilbert wants to do something special for his mother on Mother's Day, but first he must stop his sister, Lola, from being the center of attention.

-I Love Mom With the Very Hungry Catapillar by Eric Carle: The very hungry caterpillar shows its love for Mom.

-My Mother is So Smart! by Tomie DePaula: From her knowledge of when to change a diaper and how to make popsicles to her skills in driving a delivery truck and dancing the polka, a child sings the praises of a special family member.
