Hibernation season is over!

Hibernation season is over and there is a ton to do in Seabrook. Here at Evelyn Meador Library we have something for EVERYONE!

For the very young ones (0-5 every week we have several story times and even a maker activity. We have a special program Fiesta celebrating El día de los niños/El día de los libros coming up on April 30th at 10:30 am. We will have a Mariachi Band, bilingual story, and light refreshments. After the story and band we will have a maker activity where your young ones will be able to make maracas.

For the Elementary school age children (6-11) we have after school programming options and while everyone is invited to attend all programming, some programming is geared towards the tween and teen age group. If you have questions about whether or not a program is suitable please see a library staff member or give us a call. We have a book club that is for 4th through 7th graders starting April 28th at 3:00 pm and will be scheduled for the 4th Saturday of every month. This month we ask that the participants bring a favorite book of poems for National Poetry Month.

For our Tweens and Teens (11-18) we have after school programming designed just for them! Being so close to Seabrook Intermediate School we make sure to provide something almost every day of the week for those students. Now that I said that, I have to say that the last week of April is a transition week as our former Young Adult Specialist Mark who switched to our Maker Space Specialist transitions fully into his role and we welcome Greg as our new Young Adult specialist. Greg will have programs starting back up in May with his first program being Peep Dioramas on May 1st at 4:00 pm.

For everyone else (18-200) we have middle of the day programming and after 5:00 pm programming. Starting Monday April 23rd we have a program on Rainwater Harvesting at 5:30 pm. Tuesday April 24th at 6:30 pm we have an Excel 2016 - Formulas, sort and filters class. Wednesday April 25th at 5:30 pm we learn about Why and How to make a Bat House. And, on Friday April 27th at 1:30 pm we have Pinterest - organization ideas program.
