The History of a Language
Would you be surprised to find out Shakespeare's works are written in Modern English? It's true! Modern English started in about 1450. Granted, Shakespeare's time included the early years of the Modern English period (1450-1800), while we live in the Late Modern English period (1800 onward). There are some differences, but not many.
