Join a Book Club!

It is a great time to join one of our book clubs at the Evelyn Meador Library. Now, as I say that, I know what you are thinking. It’s a bit of a busy season. There are presents to wrap, kids to entertain, and relatives to write, and the list goes on. However, after Christmas, things are going to calm down, and you are going to need to find something to do to fill up your time, and a great way to do that is to join one of our book clubs.

We currently have two book clubs at our library. The first is our Adult Book Club. They meet the second Monday of every month at 11:00 AM and have a great discussion about a new book each time. In January, they will be talking about the biography: “That Woman:  The Life of Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor” by Anne Sebba. This is a great opportunity to read interesting books, meet great people, and have a fun discussion once a month.

If you are looking for something for your kids to do, we also have a fantastic Youth Book Club. This is for all school age children and meets at 4:15 PM the second Thursday of each month. At each of these book clubs, we talk about the book and do a craft or game. We are starting the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and will be discussing “The Lightning Thief” by Rick Riordan in our book club this month.

If you want to join either of these clubs, no registration is required. You can come and pick up a book for our book clubs right next to the holds section and then come to the club ready to talk. We are always happy to have new members. If you can’t make it to the club this month, keep a look out for our upcoming books so that you can join next time.
Have a great Holiday Break and we hope to see you at the library soon.
