July Events in the Children's Department

We're almost halfway through the Summer Reading Program.  Here's some fun programs we have on tap for children in July.

 Tuesday, July 3 - 2:30 pm only - Fourth of July Crafts.  Make a festive necklace and a colorful rocket to celebrate our nation's birthday.  Recommended for children 3-12 years old.  Tickets given out at 2:00 pm.

Thursday, July 5 - 2:30 pm - Musical Instrument Petting Zoo - Members of the Houston Symphony League/Bay Area will be showing their musical instruments.  We'll have books to check out and fun printables, too.  Recommended for 5 years and older.  Tickets given out at 2:00 pm.

Saturday, July 7 - 11:00 am - Family Storytime - Fun stories, songs and fingerplays.  No tickets needed.  Join us for another Family Storytime on Saturday, July 21 at 11:00 am.

Thursday, July 12 - Magician Julian Franklin - 2:30 & 3:30 pm - Enjoy magic, humor and puppets!  Recommended for children 5 years and older.  Tickets given out at 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm.  Also, checiout our Pajama Storytime for the whole family at 6:00 pm.  Tickets given out at 5:30 pm.  Join us for another Pajama Storytime on Thursday, July 26 at 6:00 pm.

Friday, July 13 - Baby Playtime.- 10:00 am - Toys, books and bubbles for children from infants through 18 months old.  No tickets needed.

Thursday, July 19 - Crocodile Encounter - 2:30 & 3:30 pm - See a baby alligator and other neat animals!  Recommended for children 5 years and older.   Tickets given out at 2:00 and 3:00 pm.

Thursday, July 26 - Texas Bugs - 2:30 & 3:30 pm -  The Texas Museum of Natural Science brings us lots of amazing Texas bugs!  Recommended for children 5 years and older.  Tickets given out at 2:00 and 3:00 pm.

Friday, July 27 - Todderls in Motion - 10:15 am - Children 18 months through 3 years get a chance to move around and dance while they learn.  Also includes some fantastic toys!  Tickets given out at 10:00 am when we open.
