June Book Clubs

Inspirational Book Club

The Inspirational Book Club will discuss "No Other Will Do" by Karen Witemeyer. This group meets June 15th at 2:00pm. Men are optional. That was the credo Emma Chandler's suffragette aunts taught her and why she started a successful women's colony in Harper's Station, Texas. But when an unknown assailant tries repeatedly to drive the women out, Emma is forced to admit they might need a man after all. One who can fight. And there is only one she trusts enough to ask. Malachi Shaw has finally earned the respect he's always craved by becoming an explosives expert for the railroad. Yet when Emma's telegram arrives, he leaves his job behind and rushes to Harper's Station to repay the girl who once saved his life. Only she's not a girl any longer. She's a woman with a mind of her own and a smile that makes a man imagine a future he doesn't deserve.

All Fiction Book Club

Participant and author, Lou Kamradt will give a talk about her book "Redhead Accountant Lady Finds Love". This group meets June 19th at 2:00pm. I left the city of St. Louis behind seeking a new future in a small town in Wyoming in the late 1800's, was hired by an attorney's office, and started my own business. Life was good until I was devastated by a tragedy worse than anyone could ever imagine. Will I return to the ranch?

New Perspective Book Club

The New Perspective Book Club will discuss the book "Tempting Fate" by Jane Green. This group meets June 30th at 3:00pm. Gabby and Elliott have been happily married for eighteen years. They have two teenaged daughters; they have built a life together. So why does forty-three-year-old Gabby feel like she has only three more minutes left of youth? Why do her friends so desperately try to hang on to their attractiveness? And why does she ever even look at the handsome guy--ten years younger--at the other end of the bar one night? Gabby is the last person to have an affair--a physical one, at least. But Matt makes her feel sparkling, fascinating--something she hasn't felt in years. Surely there's no harm in continuing a long-distance friendship? Surely there's no harm in an emotional affair? As Gabby steps ever deeper into the allure of attraction and attention things turn perilous. If she makes one wrong move she could lose everything--and find out what really matters most.
