Keep Your New Year’s Resolution this Year

With the holidays over and 2019 finally here, we’ve all set our New Year’s Resolutions. However, I’m sure at least some of you are worried that this year will be exactly like last year, where halfway through January your goals were already given up. If that is the case, don’t worry. The library is here to help you accomplish those resolutions and have fun during the process. With a variety of events, resources, and opportunities, there’s no goal that we can’t help you with. Here’s just a few of the ways we can help you out:

-Learn a new skill: We offer classes on computers, 3D printing, and genealogy, as well as programs with cooking, artificial intelligence, art, and robots (and that’s just in January). When you pair that with books and databases covering almost everything, and librarians who know where to find them, we can sure help you learn something new.

-Exercise More: Every Friday morning at 9:30 we have a Happy Feet Walking Club, that goes for a 45 minute walk. It’s a great way to exercise more with a group to keep you accountable.

-Spend more time with family: With programs for all ages, like our Family Storytime, and toys and games in the library, you can come, spend more time with the kids, and knock this resolution out of the park.

-Learn a Language: With regular ESL and Spanish classes, as well as a French Club, you can easily accomplish this goal. To make this even simpler, our online databases mean that you can learn languages without leaving home.

If there are any other resolutions you would like help with, we would be happy to work with you to see what we can help with. Just come in to the library and we’ll see what we can do or look at our Events Calendar to see what's coming up.

Hope you have a great new year!
