Live Music, After Hours: Da Camera at Spring Branch Memorial Library

Harris County Public Library and Da Camera will be sending African American History Month 2018 out on a high note! 

On Wednesday, February 28, when Spring Branch Memorial Library closes for the evening, it will transform into live music performance space. In this one night only, after hours program presented by Da Camera, artist Sam Dinkins III will tell the stories of musical styles: Bembe', Spirituals, Blues, Jazz, Soul, Reggae and R & B through song and narration (and a splash of poetry).

Since its inception in 1987, Da Camera Chamber Music and Jazz has become a prized arts institution in Houston. Da Camera's mission is to "produce thematically programmed concerts designed to attract new listeners to the concert hall." 

Sam Dinkins, III is a drummer/percussionist and music educator, as well as the founder of the DDC School of Music.
