Halloween is one of my absolute favorite holidays. When October comes around, I love to immerse myself inall things Halloween. Luckily for me (and you), there's a book for that!
October Dreams is an anthology dedicated to All Hallow's Eve. October Dreams starts out with a very informative short history on Halloween and then dips into all the fun stuff. You'll also find some short stories by some of horror's greatest authors. Not only that, there's even a list of must see Halloween movies and other must read Halloween novels. One of my favorite tidbits from October Dreams are the real life Halloween memories of the author's.
October Dreams is a very heavy book and if you read it in one sitting, you'll be sick of Halloween. I suggest reading this on and off throughout the month of October. It will really get you pumped up for Halloween.
If you are looking for more recommendations, try checking out Dreadful Tale's All Hallow's Read 2013. They will be posting horror recommendations all month. That's where I got the recommendation for October Dreams, so you know it's going to be a good list! Happy Halloween!
