Orphan Train Book Discussion

Join us 7pm Monday when our Evening Book Club will discuss the Orphan Train by Christina Kline.  This 2013 bestseller features a teenager struggling with living in foster care who reluctantly befriends an elderly woman who teaches her much about life, especially through her own experiences as a member of the Orphan Train.  The Orphan Trains were an attempt to send children out from New York to the supposedly healthier life in the Midwest, from the 1850's to 1929. This is a moving story of resilience and empathy.  There’s still plenty of time to pick up a copy of The Orphan Train from our customer service desk and join the discussion in the meeting room this coming Monday, February 6th.
