Politics and Elections and Comedy

On Tuesday, November 8, the United States will elect a new president.  It’s a big day for our country.  And it’s been a long, winding, doozy of a campaign this time.  No matter what happens, this election will make history.

But, as I said, this has been a long campaign.  Even though it will be over soon, maybe you can use a break from all the drama and -- inadvertent comedy -- of this past year with some actual real comedy about politics and politicians -- and sometimes their families.

Now I’m staying away from anything to do with real elected officials.  In fact, I’m staying as far away as I can from anything remotely serious – although sometimes the fictional accounts of people in high office can be awfully close to reality…

If you need a good laugh about the state of politics past and present in the U.S. and the world at large, check out one of the titles below.  From high school to small town to international, top level government, there’s a fun movie or TV show to watch.

Finally, if you’ve not been able to take advantage of early voting here in Texas, there is still the official Election Day this coming Tuesday.  Click here for more information on the election and how to find your local polling place.  And be sure to exercise your right to vote.
