Reducing Stress Through Meditation
On Thursday, April 25th at 2:00 p.m., join William Smith, retired Army Lt. Colonel, as he discusses the extraordinary effect of meditation to reduce stress-related responses, improve concentration, enhance clarity of thought and mental equilibrium. He will also present a simple, yet powerful meditation technique that can enrich one's life personally, professionally and spiritually.
William Smith, a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel engineer, has a master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems from the University of South Carolina. As an Army officer, he pioneered this new technology within the Department of Defense. William is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College and has held many leadership positions during his successful 20 year military career.
William retired from the Army in 1998 and spends his time in volunteer work. He currently directs the Darshan Meditation Camp, a summer camp for children, and assists in managing a meditation retreat center near Washington D.C. William has practiced meditation since 1973 and traveled to India a year later to meet his meditation teacher, Sant Kirpal Singh Ji Maharaj. He has traveled extensively and given talks on meditation in several countries.
