R.I.P. Sid Fleishchman (1920-2010)
Newbery winning author Sid Fleishchman died Wed. March 17, one day after turning 90 years old. Sid won the Newbery for The Whipping Boy. Sid's son Paul is also a Newbery winner - for Joyful Noise: Poems for two voices. They are the only father and son to have both won a Newbery Medal.
