SCORE presents: how to be a successful bidder

Contractors must juggle between two possibilities when estimating costs for their customers: If my bid is too low, I will lose money. If I bid too high, my customers will leave me, and use my competitor.

Join us on Saturday, March 18 at 10:30 a.m. for a discussion about how to accurately set the sales prices you need to quote to your customers. Keith Stine, a retired electrical contractor and current SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) mentor, will help participants with the following topics and more:

• What are my true costs for labor, materials, equipment and taxes?
• How do I calculate my overhead expenses?
• What amount of profit can I include into my pricing?

This seminar is specifically targeted for contractors doing competitive bid work. However, the principles of pricing and determining your overhead and profit markup are universal for all small businesses who need to quote accurate prices for their services and attract the attention of their clients.
