Second Chance Romances

I love the feeling that comes with the start of each new year that you are beginning with a clean slate.  It's a time when you can try to make improvements in your life and correct mistakes of the past.  Okay, so I didn't finish my resolution to read all of Tolstoy or learn to speak Italian, I still enjoy the giddy new year second chance feeling. 

From Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn in The Philadelphia Story to Bill Murray in Groundhog Day, second chances are a popular entertainment theme.  The romance genre, in particular, seems to thrive on the topic of second chances at love.  Couples who had previously parted are brought together for one reason or another and finally manage to make things right and earn their happily ever after.
