September Events in the Children's Department

    As we try to return to some form of routine after the storm, here's some new and some established programs for children and families to attend.  First, our regular morning storytimes have changed a bit - Mondays at 11:15 am we'll have Baby Butterflies for children walking to 2 years old; Tuesdays we'll still have Toddler Time for 18 monhs-3 year olds at 10:15 and 11:15 am; and Wednesdays at 10:15 and 11:15 we'll have Baby Caterpillars for infants to assisted walking babies.   The preschool storytimes remain the same on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 1:30 pm for 3-5 year olds.  These storytimes require tickets.  They are free and given out at 10:00 am for 10:15 am programs, 10:45 am for 11:15 am programs and 1:00 pm for 1:30 pm programs.

We'll continue to have a Family Storytime on the first and third Saturdays of the month at 11:00 am.  The next Family storytime is Saturday, September 16.  No tickets are needed for this program.  

We will have the monthly Pajama Storytime for all ages on Thursday, September 21 at 6:00 pm.  Tickets will be given out at 5:30 pm.   Children are welcome to wear pajamas, slippers, and bring a favorite stuffed animal or blanket.

Our monthly Friday morning programs for babies and toddlers continue this month.  Baby Playtime will be on Friday, September 15 at 10:00 am.  This program is for babies up to 18 months old.  No tickets are needed for this program.  For toddlers 18 months to 3 years old, we have an energetic program called Toddlers-in-Motion on Friday, September 29 at 10:15 am.  This program requires tickets.  They will be given out when  we open at 10:00 am.

For children 5-12 years old, we'll resume weekly afterschool programming with Maker Monday on Mondays at 4:30 pm. This program features an activity or craft.  We kick off the fun this Monday, September 11 with Magnetic Mosaics.  Tickets are required.  They are free and available at 4:00 pm.  

On Thursday, September 14 at 4:30 pm, we'll be premiering a monthly Book Club program.  We'll have a copies of a book that can be checked out and then children can see a movie or do an activity related to the book.  This month's book choice is Roald Dahl's Matilda.  Tickets will be given out at 4:00 pm.

For tweens 8-12 years old, we'll have a Tabletop Gaming Program on Friday, September 15 at 4:00 pm .  This fun program features classic board games and other activities.  Tickets given out at 3:30 pm.
