September Programs in the Children's Department

It's a new school year...We have many returning programs and a few new programs for the month of September.  We kick off the month on Saturday, 9/1 with Family Storytime at 11:00 am.  No tickets are required for this program.  We will have another Family Storytime on 9/15.

Maker Monday returns on Monday, 9/10 at 4:30 pm.  This afterschool program is for children 5-12 years old.  It features an activity kit or craft each week.  We'll have pinball on 9/10, Lego Free Play on 9/17, and Magnetic Mosaics on 9/24.

Baby Playtime for infants up to 18 months old will be on Friday, 9/14 at 10:00 am.  No tickets are needed for this program.  Toddlers will enjoy their playdate on Friday, 9/28 at 10:15 am.  Tickets given out at 10:00 am.

Families of preschool age children will enjoy Pajama Storytime on Thursday, 9/13 and 9/27 at 6:00 pm.  This storytime features books, songs, and a craft.  Children are welcome to wear pajamas and bring a stuffed animal or blanket.  Tickets are given out at 5:30 pm.

Our monthly Book Club returns on Wednesday, 9/19 at 4:30 pm.  This month's book iis C.S. Lewis' The Lion,the Witch and the Wardrobe.  We will talk about the book and then have tasty treat mentioned in the book.  We'll also design a snowflake and decorate our own shield.  This program is recommended for children 8-12 years old.  Tickets will be given out at 4 pm.

We will celebrate the Chinese Moon Festival on Thursday, 9/20 at 5 pm with a bilingual English/Chinese storytime.  We'll have a story, activities, and a mooncake treat.  Tickets will be given out at 4:30 pm.

We will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a special perrformance by Ballet Folklorico Las Americas.on Saturday, 9/22 at 2:00 pm.  This program features traditional dances from Mexico, Latin America, and Spain performed by children and adults.  Tickets will be given out at 1:30 pm.  This program is recommended for children 3 years and older.

Tweens 8-12 years old will enjoy making their own robot in the Build-A-Bot program on Wednesday, 9/26 at 4:30 pm.  We'lll provide all the parts necessary to put together this fun robot.  Tickets required.  They'll be given out at 4:00 pm.
