The State of Health Houston & Harris County Report

When we think about health, we usually think about it on a personal level. We don’t often consider that our health and that of our neighbors constitutes a public policy issue, but the fact is a sizeable slice of any level of government’s revenue goes into promoting and protecting the health of its constituents. From immunization programs to restaurant inspectors looking for slime in ice machines, your tax dollars are directly involved in the health and well-being of your community.

The Harris County Health Care Alliance including Harris County Public Health and Environment Services, and many other county and city agencies has compiled the State of Health Houston & Harris County Report 2015 - 2016

which takes a detailed look at where we stand now including risk factors by geographical location, trends for the future, and ways that the major health issues facing our area may be addressed. It is well worth your time to read over the report and it is available free online here
