After reading The Brutal Telling
, I decided to go back and read the first book, Still Life
, in Louise Penny’s Armand Gamache series. Jane Neal, a retired school teacher, is found dead, shot by an arrow
near a woodland trail. At first, it seems like a hunting accident. But upon further investigation, Gamache determines that it was murder. Jane had just entered a picture in a local art exhibit. And for the very first time, she had invited her friends to see her living room, never before seen by anyone in the village. The village characters are charming and I really enjoyed trying to figure out whodunit.
