Website design with WIX

In the online age that we live in, having a professional website is an absolute necessity for nearly all career choices and business ventures. A great website can simultaneously operate as a marketing tool, a store platform, a display of works and skills, a communication channel and as an engine for branding. Ability Level: Intermediate. Requirements: Must be able to type, use mouse, have an email address and have some familiarity with social media. Dates: July 8th and July 22nd at 10:00am. 

Emedia & Apps Workshops

A staff member will be available to provide hands on assistance with ebook/eaudiobook downloads through Overdrive/HOOPLA/Recorded books on devices such as I-Pads, Kindles, and Smart Phones. Staff will answer questions and troubleshoot problems that customers may be encounter while using a digital library service. Date: Saturday, July 29th at 10:00am

Keyboarding 101 Class

Do you need to brush up on your typing skills for school or work? Do you want to be able to better interact with your computer? Northwest Branch Library will offer a class today that will increase your typing ability. An instructor will be available to assist students throughout the program. Ability level: beginner, requirements: none. Dates:  July 14th and July 28th at 1:00pm.

Novelist Plus Database

Novelist Plus Database for Adults. Novelist provides electronic readers advisory service for fiction and nonfiction. Customers can search by author, genre, or enter a novel you liked and get recommendations for similar books. Dates: July 10th and July 24th  at 7:00pm.

Learn Another Language with Pronunciator

Pronunciator is a fun and free way to learn more than 80 languages with self-directed lessons, live teachers, movies, music, and more. Pronunciator is free to Harris County Library Customers. Staff will do a live demo of the service, answer questions related to Pronunciator, and describe other language learning resources that are available to library customers. Dates: Wednesday, July 19th at 7:00pm.

Design More Effective Presentations with Microsoft PowerPoint

Learn to design more effective Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. Tips and techniques will be discussed along with design recommendations and other features. Ability level: beginner. Requirements: Must be able to type and use a mouse. July 25th at 10:30am.
