Website design with WIX

In the online age that we live in, having a professional website is an absolute necessity for nearly all career choices and business ventures. A great website can simultaneously operate as a marketing tool, a store platform, a display of works and skills, a communication channel and as an engine for branding. Dates: June 10th and June 24th at 10:00am. Register for a spot here.

Emedia & Apps Workshops

A staff member will be available to provide hands on assistance with ebook/eaudiobook downloads through Overdrive/HOOPLA/Recorded books on devices such as I-Pads, Kindles, and Smart Phones. Staff will answer questions and troubleshoot problems that customers may be encounter while using a digital library service. Date: Saturday, June 17th at 10:00am

Learning Express Graduate School Edition

Is graduate school in your near future? Are you planning on taking the GRE, GMAT, or LSAT test? If your answer is yes, then consider spending time with the staff at Northwest to learn about free resources that are available to lessen the financial burden that often comes with pursuing higher education. Staff will talk about the College Center Plus feature within Learning Express Library and spotlight other resources that can help you in your pursuit of advanced education. Date: Wednesday, June 14th at 7:00pm.

Keyboarding 101 Class

Do you need to brush up on your typing skills for school or work? Do you want to be able to better interact with your computer? Northwest Branch Library will offer a class today that will increase your typing ability. An instructor will be available to assist students throughout the program. Ability level: beginner, requirements: none. Dates:  June 16th and June 30th at 1:00pm.

Novelist Plus Database

Novelist Plus Database for Adults. Novelist provides electronic readers advisory service for fiction and nonfiction. Customers can search by author, genre, or enter a novel you liked and get recommendations for similar books. Monday, June 12th  at 7:00pm.

Mousercise Class

Learn Another Language with Pronunciator

Pronunciator is a fun and free way to learn more than 80 languages with self-directed lessons, live teachers, movies, music, and more. Pronunciator is free to Harris County Library Customers. Staff will do a live demo of the service, answer questions related to Pronunciator, and describe other language learning resources that are available to library customers. Dates: Wednesday, June 28th at 7:00pm.
