Teen Summer Writing Contest

teen summer writing contest

Are you a teen who loves writing short stories or poetry? There’s still time to submit an entry in the sixth annual Teen Summer Writing Contest! Held every summer, the Writing Contest is hosted by the Lone Star College-Tomball Community Library and the Barbara Bush Branch Library. It is open to all teenagers who are going into grades 6 through 12. In the past we have received entries from all over HCPL, the country, and even a few from outside the United States!

The Teen Summer Writing Contest has four categories: poetry for grades 6-8 and for grades 9-12; and short story for grades 6-8 and grades 9-12. All entries are due, with an attached entry form, at the LSC-Tomball Library or the Barbara Bush Branch Library by 5:00 pm on Saturday, July 26th. No late entries will be accepted.

A reception to announce the winners will be held at the LSC-Tomball Library on Tuesday, August 12 at 7:00 pm. Winners will receive Barnes & Noble gift cards, and all participants will receive a certificate.

Entry forms and rules for the Teen Summer Writing Contest are available at the LSC-Tomball Library and the Barbara Bush Branch Library, as well as attached to this post.

We look forward to reading your entries! Good luck!
