Texas Gothic by Rosemary Clement-Moore
Amy and Phin Goodnight have been asked to take care of their Aunt Hyacinth's farm while she's out of town. Normally, this would be a strenuous albeit boring task but Amy and Phin Goodnight are anything but normal. Descending from a long line of witches, Phin uses science to explore paranormal activities and Amy has an affinity for ghosts.
Amy tries as hard as she can to keep things "normal" but that comes to a halt when she encounters a ghost on the property. While searching for the ghost, locally known as the Mad Monk, Amy and Phin happen upon some students that are excavating bones. Could these be the same bones of the Mad Monk?
Texas Gothic by Rosemary Clement-Moore gives some great creep factor. The ghost definitely gave me chills and I always looked forward to scenes featuring Amy and the ghost. Texas Gothic is a slow-paced book that's perfect for ending the summer. Enjoy!
