Thank You to Troop 13596
On May 15, Junior Girl Scout Troop 13596 presented to the Barbara Bush Branch Library, a rejuvenated courtyard garden and a donation of over 1,000 books. The presentation was the conclusion of their Girl Scout Bronze Award project. Earning this award involved a minimum of 20 hours: building your team, exploring your community, choosing your project, planning it, putting your plan in motion, and concluding with spreading the word about the project.
These Scouts designed their project with two main components. The first was to organize and implement a children's book drive at their three elementary schools. The second was to rejuvenate the garden space between the Barbara Bush Library and the Pearl Fincher Museum. From their Bronze Award project, these Scouts learned a sense of community, creativity, to be helpful, to be considerate, leadership skills, team work, organization, communication and to use resources wisely.
Thank you, Junior Girl Scout Troop 13596 for choosing to help the library in these special ways!
